POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • Are regular oil changes required?

YES – oil changes are a necessary part of truck ownership for optimal engine results and smooth driving, and it’s easy enough to do at Nota Motors. The changing of a trucks oil is probably one of the most important things a truck owner can do to ensure a high quality engine and extended life of the truck itself.

  • What are the benefits of regular oil changes?

The noted benefits of this process include improved engine and horsepower, the reduction of friction by increasing lubrication in the engine which prevents overheating and removing impurities that build up around the engine such as dust, metallic shavings, and antifreeze. Not removing these impurities can mean less fuel efficiency and engine processing.

  • How often does my bus need to be inspected?

Under the Bus Safety Act 2009 (Vic) bus safety inspections are a legal requirement for accredited and registered operators. Each bus that is used in the provision of the operator’s bus service must be inspected annually. We also carryout 3 monthly safety inspections to ensure your buses are fit for the roads and in A1 condition.

  • YES – For peace of mind when purchasing a used vehicle, you can rely on Nota Motors. Our vehicle Inspections are conducted at our premises by qualified diesel mechanics. Once the inspection is completed, you will receive a report that informs you of the overall condition of the vehicle based on an in-depth examination of components.

  • Are shock absorbers important?

Yes! The main job of a Shock Absorber (Damper) is to reduce the number of oscillations of the springs from them hitting a bump and the spring – air bags coming back to the rest position. The benefit of this is ride control, ride comfort and protection of suspension components. This is why at Nota Motors, we will check the operation and condition of all Shock Absorbers.

  • Why do we need to rotate my wheels?

Tyre rotation in some instances can increase tyre life by up to 50%, simply by rotating 3-4 times throughout tyre life. By changing the direction of rotation we can minimize any minor irregularities in tyre wear. However, tyre rotation will not rectify any significant abnormal wear. The cause of abnormal wear should be corrected before tyre rotation.
